The 4th March 2020 will be the 130th Anniversary of the Forth Bridge, To mark this occasion the above event has been organised at the Contact and Education Centre. During the afternoon there will be a chance to view an interesting exhibition about the history of the Forth Bridge and this will be followed, in the evening, with a series of entertaining talks about aspects of the work that has been undertaken on the Bridge, ensuring it will look just as good for another 130 years. All welcome at this free event.
Queensferry History Group’s 2nd Exhibition – Queensferry at War – The Final Chapter and Beyond has now finsihed and is no longer on display at Queensferry Museum. We felt very privileged to be given the opportunity to display our research work and show the impact the First World War had on the people and communities of Queensferry and Dalmeny. Some of our research work and information from both exhibitions can be seen on our other website Queensferry at War and a booklet has also been produced. This will be available soon.
After spending the past six years researching and working on the First World War the Group now feels it is time to focus on our own information and archives. For over thirty years we have been collecting information and images about local history. This year’s project is to reassess and organise our collection and share some of it with you through the pages of this website. We also look forward to working with other community Groups on a variety of projects.
